The World's Most Beautiful Fireplaces

French Fireplaces

The French fireplace displays an unmistakably different architectural form from that of its English counterpart. With its exuberant curves and lavish decoration it is instantly recognisable.

The Navarre

Reflecting the popularity of the French rococo style in England during the 18th century, the Navarre is an English chimneypiece that copies the French style whilst retaining the taller proportions typical of an English chimneypiece. Carved in statuary marble, it is shown with forged steel Burton andirons, Baird fire basket for dogs and Reeded cast iron interior panels.
