The World's Most Beautiful Fireplaces
Flue Lining & Fan Service
Working for a Safer Environment
By law, every working fireplace, whether using solid fuel or a class one gas fire is required to have a functioning flue in good condition. Many clients buying a Chesney's fireplace, especially those buying for the first time, are unaware of this.

In order to tackle this problem, and in our constant effort to facilitate customers' enjoyment of their chimneypieces, Chesney's has introduced a flue lining co-ordination service in addition to our existing installation service. A sound working flue is essential so that noxious fumes can escape up the chimney and not find their way back into the building through gaps or leaks.

The testing process is as follows: Smoke is introduced into the chimney. The flue run is checked to ensure no smoke has leaked into any part of the building or adjoining flues. If the flue is breached, i.e. there is a leak or a gap in the chimney which cannot be repaired, it is then necessary to line the flue.

The cost of this process depends on the length and diameter of liner and any scaffolding requirements. Lining is the safest solution to ensure a fully functional flue.

A Twinwall Flue System is a flue that can be installed to allow the installation of a fire if there is no existing flue or the existing flue isn't in the right place for your needs. If the installation includes a horizontal termination, for example under a roof line or out of a side wall, a mechanical draw may be required. The mechanical fan will efficiently draw smoke/fumes irrespective of chimney placing, dimensions or height.

All work is in accordance with the current British Standards and Building Regulations.
