We have compiled a list of questions and answers to provide you with as much information as possible about the materials we use, delivery, warranties, installation and our payment terms.

Are Chesney's chimneypieces made from natural materials?

All of our chimneypieces are hand carved from real marble or real limestone. We do not use any lookalike or cast products of any description.

What is the lead-time for delivery?

Chesney's aim to hold stock of all reproduction fire surrounds at all times but many of the items in the range of fire baskets and register grates are made to order. Allowing for average lead times for the latter and rigorous quality control procedures on all products, delivery can generally be made within 4 - 6 weeks.

Is there a charge for delivery?

Local delivery is charged at £25.00 + VAT for all North, East, South and West London postcodes, £50.00 (excluding stoves) for non London postcodes inside the M25 and £75.00 (excluding stoves) for postcodes outside M25 within Chesney's territorial borders. Stove deliveries outside of London postcodes are priced on request. Deliveries elsewhere can be arranged using Chesney's recommended independent carriers. Unless specifically stated all deliveries are based on a kerbside service. Kerbside deliveries are carried out by one delivery operative in a tail-lift vehicle (where necessary) and are conducted on a 'to the door/property' basis only. Please contact our Sales staff for details of regional charges for specific items. Alternatively arrangements can be made by customers to use their own carriers or transport to collect from our central London warehouses in Battersea and Balham.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Chesney's products are warranted to be free from defect except for those variations in colour, shade, veining and grain which occur naturally in any limestone or marble. What happens if the goods have been damaged in the course of delivery?

Where goods are being collected from our warehouses, these must be checked and signed for at the time of collection. Any notification of damage thereafter will not be accepted as evidence of damage at the time of collection.

Who should install the chimneypiece?

If for geographical or other reasons, Chesney's recommended installers are not to be used, Chesney's will be happy to give your builder or local fireplace installer technical advice and assistance where required.

Where can I view the products?

Chesney's have a showroom in Battersea, South London where products can be viewed. Chesney's also have selected independent stockists throughout the UK from whom the entire range of products can be purchased at Chesney's recommended retail prices.
