En Trumeau Chimneypieces
AN EN TRUMEAU CHIMNEYPIECE WILL ENHANCE THE ARCHITECTURE OF ANY ROOM.
THE DESIGN WAS EXECUTED IN VARIOUS
FORMS DURING THE 17TH, 18TH AND 19TH CENTURIES THROUGHOUT FRANCE
The term en trumeau describes a decorative panel, mirror, or in this case, the continued section of a chimneypiece that sits on the mantel shelf. Stylistically, these chimneypieces are representative of all the popular styles of French chimneypiece and the Chesney’s range includes Baroque, Renaissance
and Rococo designs.
En trumeau chimneypieces were always carved from Limestone rather than marble and the relative simplicity of their carved ornament reflects this. The size of an en trumeau chimneypiece is dictated by the proportions and dimensions of the room into which it is to be installed and so every one is
custom-made to suit your home.
